Surgery for Hemorrhoids – Your Options

As frightening as the prospect may be, sometimes surgery is the only option for treating an ailment. This can sometimes be the case with severe instances of hemorrhoids. Below you will find some of the various options available in regards to hemorrhoids surgery.

Hemorrhoid Surgery – Rubber Band Legation
With rubber band legation, a specially designed tool is used to wrap a band around the base of a hemorrhoid. This band cuts off the circulation to the hemorrhoid and eventually deadens the tissue in that area. When successful, placing the band around the hemorrhoid results in a reduction in pain at the site.

Compared to other hemorrhoid surgeries, rubber band legation has a decent rate of success. Even so, the procedure can be extremely painful and does not prevent new hemorrhoids from occuring.

Hemorrhoid Surgery – Hemorrhoidectomy
Just as the “ectomy” in the name suggests, this is the hemorrhoid surgery in which the hemorrhoid is removed from the body. While the actual procedure can be performed quickly by a skilled surgeon, it can be an incredibly invasive operation. Due to the locations of the incisions, recovery from a hemorrhoidectomy can be difficult.

Hemorrhoid Surgery – Infrared Coagulation
Infrared coagulation is a procedure that sounds like an idea from a science fiction novel. An infrared light is used to essentially burn the hemorrhoid in order to develop scar tissue in the area. The scar tissue builds up and eventually cuts off blood flow to the hemorrhoid. Without a supply of blood, the tissue in the area dies and the hemorrhoid falls off.

This procedure is very easy compared to the other surgical options listed above.

While hemorrhoid surgeries have come a long way, they still fail in one major area – prevention. Hemorrhoids is, itself, a symptom of another problem with your digestive system. Without addressing this problem, hemorrhoids can return even after undergoing surgery.

There is a natural method for treating hemorrhoids that combats the larger problem with your digestive system. This method works with your body and can be done at home.
